Who We Support

Expanding Family Support Services

Positive Tomorrows

Award Date: November 21, 2024
Awarded: $100,000

Positive Tomorrows is Oklahoma's only school and social services program exclusively focused on children and families experiencing homelessness. The agency’s Family Support Program provides wraparound services to the whole family, including older children who aren't eligible for enrollment in our elementary or middle school classes. Case managers help families secure permanent housing, maintain employment, connect to community resources, and navigate child welfare or domestic violence. By partnering with a child's family to move them into a stable position, a student can be more successful in the classroom and beyond. Stable housing is the solution to homelessness, and education is the key to future success. In combination, our programs assist families in breaking generational cycles of homelessness and poverty. This grant will allow the agency to address gaps left by restricted federal funds. Funding supports re-housing families and employing diversion program elements to prevent evictions, both of which have shown great success at allowing families to remain housing-stable.
