Meet the Team: Corbin Babb
Get to know Corbin better with our little Q&A, below, and check out her bio on our Who We Are page.
What is one seemingly small thing that brings you joy?
Coming home to my dog, Nuggest, is one of the highlights of my day. He waits by the door, tail wagging and little feet shuffling with excitement. There’s something so pure about a dog’s unconditional love—they don’t care how your day went or what you achieved; they’re just thrilled to see you. It melts me every time. I just adore him.
What is your favorite part of each day?
My favorite part of the day is winding down on the couch with my husband. We catch up on each other’s day, snuggle with our dog, and have a comfort show playing in the background. It’s a simple ritual, but it fills me with peace and gratitude.
Who inspires you?
My mom is my biggest inspiration. As a single mom to four kids, she worked tirelessly to provide for us. She bravely moved my sisters and I to Oklahoma in 2013 to a state where we didn’t know anyone, into a house we had never seen, to work for people she had never met – just so that her kids could have a fresh start. Since then, I have watched her work her way up from a secretary to COO, all without a degree. She is balanced, kind, intelligent, and bold, and I am incredibly proud to call her my mom.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I have every received was from my mom from as early as I can remember, “always trust your gut.”
What is one thing that you have recently learned or changed your mind about?
I’ve been reading The Diary of a Human Lie Detector by Annie Sarnblad, and it’s opened my eyes to how much we communicate through micro expressions—even when we try to mask our feelings. By focusing on just a few key areas of the face, you can pick up on emotions like contempt, fear, sadness, or disgust. It’s fascinating how much we reveal without even realizing it.
What does success look like for you in your role at AFF?
To me, success in this role means soaking up every bit of knowledge from the incredibly talented team at AFF. Additionally, I want to be a reliable, valuable teammate and contribute meaningfully to our mission. Lastly, I hope to build strong, authentic relationships with individuals and organizations across our community who are equally passionate about creating lasting change for Oklahomans.
What is your top-used gif?
My go-to gif is “Ew, David!” from Schitt’s Creek. It’s a running joke in our house—my husband’s name is David, and he’s a firefighter and paramedic here in OKC. When he shares some wild or graphic story from work, my automatic (and appropriate!) response is always, “Ew, David!”
