Hope Strategies serves youth aged 12-17 from the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau who are required to perform civic engagement, or are in detention, with its weekly CREW (Character, Responsibility, Education, and Wellbeing) programs. In warm months, CREW works in a community garden. When temps are cold, CREW puts together food bags, makes sleeping mats for the unhoused & creates care packages for nursing home residents. CREW provides educational opportunities, guest speakers, workforce information through partner agencies, and positive connections. CREW Connections is a program for girls in the juvenile detention center with a focus is on goal setting, self-efficacy, life skills, creativity, and positive interactions. Art and creative expression are used to encourage individuality, self-worth and resilience.
The Arnall Community Funds are administered through Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF) and provide grants to nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Oklahoma that are working to improve outcomes for individuals, children and families involved with animal welfare and in the child welfare and criminal justice systems. The OCCF staff manages the grant administration process and all grantmaking decisions are made by OCCF Trustees.
