The Central Oklahoma Humane Society’s primary goal is to end the needless euthanasia of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats in central Oklahoma. Since founding in 2007, our programs have served nearly 135,000 pets and found homes for 30,000. In their first 10 years we have made great strides toward this goal including increasing the live release rate from the Oklahoma City animal shelter from 25% in 2007 to 80% in 2018. Support of the Hero Awards enables the expansion of the Central Oklahoma Humane Society’s innovative and life-saving programs benefiting pets in our community.
